Mondays are for Mood Boards – Pantone’s 2017 Color pick

And The Winner Is…. GREENLY

Every year Pantone announces their pick for the color of the year, a choice that effects more industries than you think. Of course it affect the fashion industry, but truly every industry that sells a product is impacted!
“The PANTONE Color of the Year is a symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.” – Pantone

This yellow-green tone is warm and bold, a color that is both action-affirming and optimistic.

“While Serenity and Rose Quartz, the Pantone Color of the Year 2016, expressed the need for harmony in a chaotic world . . . Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for amid a complex social and political landscape. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate, revitalize, and unite, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and a larger purpose.” – Leatrice Eisenman Pantone Color Institute executive director (Fast Company)

Since color is their business, Pantone has called themselves the  “global color authority,” and has all sorts of designers, stylists and color lovers that wait each year with high anticipation for the annual announcement. And yes, this TOTALLY reminds me of the scene in Devil Wears Prada where Anne Hathaway gets a quick lesson on color choices from Meryl Streep.

So, in honor of Pantone’s 2017 color choice, we created a fun little mood board celebrating Greenery PANTONE 15-0343!!

“Greenery offers us self-assurance and boldness to live life on our own terms, during a time when we are redefining what makes us successful and happy.”
